Recycling Logo

These where some images I found of the Become Green project. The end result of that project was a completely different outcome, but I wanted to upload the pictures of the previous work I had done for that project. Before deciding to do an animation, I had focused all my research into redesigning the recycling logo having as an inspiration recycling art, so I created them by the actual materials that are suppose to be recycled. I did not use them in the end because I thought they did not work well in packages.

Love Packaging (Process)

Having created the prototypes we had to take the next step which was to cut the plywood and try to bend it in a cylinder shape. We went to the 3-D studio where we had a lot of help from the tutors there who guided us and taught us how to use the equipment that we needed in the studio. We has to cut the plywood with the wood cutter and then with the saw cut out the circular shape lids and with some pliers glue the wood together and leave it to dry overnight.

Love packaging

Having decided that we where going to use thin plywood for our hot drink packages , we need to make sure that the shape of the actual package worked. We created several prototypes of plywood in order to get the shape we wanted.We found a place where we went and bought all of our materials in Peckham called Whitten Timber.

TV Set Collaboration

I have been collaborating with many of the second year BA Film and Video people. They recently had a project of a TV show, where they where given a script and they Production Designers had to build all of the set in a week. I helped them building the set and then being a runner while they where shooting making sure they did not need anything. I really enjoyed working in an area where im not very familiar to, working with the production designers taught me many new things and I really enjoyed working in a field where I was not very familiar with things. I had an amazing time collaborating with students in LCC that are studying something completely different from graphic design.

LOVE packaging

We have been developing several ideas for this new project, working as a group allows us to have different ideas and work all together. We decided that LOVE was too broad and that we needed to focus it a bit more, Rose found out the four greek words that described different types of love. The love for friendship, love for children, the passionate love and the love for life. Philia, Eros, Storge and Agape are the four greek words that we have decided that will be the way to express love through our package. After having brainstormed quite a lot we all decided to package warm drinks that relates to "warming up the soul" and gives you a loving feeling. Tea would be Philia which is the love for friends, coffee is Eros which is the passionate love because coffee is more aromatic and strong, hot chocolate as Storge which is the love for children the maternal love and Agape which is the pure love, love for everything and we decided that pure love should be green tea that is pure and clear.

This is a prototype of the shape of our packaging, we decided to use 0.8 plywood so that we are able to shape it as a cylinder. This are the shape of the four packages that we will create, the base of each cylinder will be a different colour and we still have to decide on the layout of the package.

Product Packaging

The new project that I chose is product packaging with Company. Chris and Alex gave us a brief about packaging emotions. They gave us some papers that had emotions written on them, I was given the emotion "LOVE". I have to work with Rose , Ankita and Claire in this project and we have to come up with a packaging that shows the emotion without being too cliche. I have been doing research of interesting packages that apply design and are unique. This is go give us an idea of what we will be working with and how we will all have to work as a group in order to come up with a new and interesting package.

Out of The Ordinary Exhibition

The venue

I went to the exhibition near Brick Lane in The Rag Factory called Out of the Ordinary.
It was in a small gallery and there where 5 artist exhibiting their work Kate Searles, Lucy Mcgeown, Tomoko Ueda, Claire Balcombe and Celia Assuncao Do Rosario.
There was quite interesting work that revealed and overlooked beauty of the familiar and raised question regarding states of reality. Its a small exhibition with only six pieces showing but they are all quite interesting to go take a look at them.
